Here's my career path in a nutshell: I graduated from college in 2003 with a degree in Spanish and minors in History and LLACS (Latino/a, Latin American, and Caribbean Studies), and little idea what to do with any of it. I ended up working for about five years in customer service and account management in the Boston area, before moving to Washington, D.C. In D.C. I landed a job doing consumer marketing for The National Geographic Society. Specifically, I worked on TravelerKids, and Little Kids magazines. It turns out that I love marketing. After six years with National Geographic, my husband's job gave us the opportunity to move to San Diego. Who could say no to that?! I was offered some freelance jobs doing marketing and PR contract work for Baker & Taylor, writing write press releases for their various imprints, including Uncle John's Bathroom ReaderSilver Dolphin BooksThunderbay Press, and Canterbury Classics, and enjoyed it immensely. As I began doing this, I was also approached with a few offers for side jobs, and it occurred to me what a natural fit this is; that I could actually combine my love of writing with my love of marketing, and make it a full-time job. I've always wanted to work for myself doing what I love, and I just couldn't pass up this opportunity. So here we are. My foundation in analytics, data, and strategy combined with my passion for writing and marketing make this the perfect thing for me to be doing. I'm fortunate that the stars aligned for me at the right time.

My background is heavily in publishing, but I've also worked in the MEMS/microelectronic chemical industry, written for a food blog, and made and sold my own all-natural soaps via Etsy (one of my favorite marketing experiments; I'd still be doing it if I had the time). I'm a regular one man band, and I'm eager to hear about what you do and how I can help you.

Drop me a line.
